Around Rogers Park: RPBG Holds 18th Annual, and First-Ever Virtual, Trends Workshop

To anyone who thought that a little thing like a global pandemic could keep us from hosting our popular, Annual Trends Workshop, you have now been proven wrong. It took considerably more effort, and it felt very different than in past years, but the annual event took place, as planned, on January 26th and was a great success. This is a good thing, given all the challenges of bringing nearly 100 participants together using just our computers and Zoom technology.

We would be remise if we did not thank the evening’s sponsors who made the event possible:

A unique feature of the event was the ability to separate the larger group into smaller pods for more intimate conversations about the questions we were asked to discuss. After the small sessions were complete, the larger group reconvened, hosted by RPBG Director, Greg Jones, of Cumberland-Halsted Insurance for a fun and interesting conversation about people’s predictions for the future.

Of course, the drum roll of the evening’s event is always finding out who won the prediction prize from two years before. This year, the winner was Sal Becovic.

Congratulations to all who participated and adapted so well to the virtual environment, and a huge thank you to Mike Glasser, Sheryl Rosenberg and the other RPBG group members who worked so hard to make the event a success. It’s always a lot of work to put together, but this year took advance preparations to a new level. Despite the challenges, it was as fun as ever, and a great way to network with old friends and make some new acquaintances. Now, on to next year when we can go back to normal for #19, or so we firmly hope!
